We Live in a Country Run By Idiots? I don’t Think So!
By Servando Gonzalez
A few days ago I was listening to professional disinformer
Sean Hannity when he mentioned a funny joke currently running
among Republicans. According to it, you know you live in a country
run by idiots if …
—You can get arrested for expired tags
on your car but not for being in the country.
—Your government believes that the best way to eradicate
trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more of our
—A seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for
calling his teacher “cute” but hosting a homosexual
exploration or diversity classes in grade school is perfectly
—Children are forcibly removed from parents who appropriately
discipline them while children of "underprivileged"
drug addicts are left to rot in filth-infested cesspools of
—Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes
and government intrusion, while some slothful, lazy behavior
is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid, subsidized
housing, and free cell phones.
—The government's plan for getting people back to work
is to provide 99 weeks of unemployment checks (to not work).
—Being self-sufficient is considered a threat to the government.
—Politicians think that stripping away the amendments
to the Constitution is really protecting the rights of the people.
—The rights of the Government come before the rights of
—Being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes
—You have to have your parent’s signature to go
on a school field trip but not to get an abortion
—An 80-year old woman can be strip-searched by the TSA,
but a Muslim woman in a burka is only subject to having her
neck and head searched.
—Using the word “nigger” is considered “hate
speech” but writing and singing songs about raping women
or exhibiting a crucifix on a jar of urine is considered “art.”
Later I discovered that the list was originally
written by Gary North on December 20, 2012, and soon after it
went viral on the Web. Later on, some people have added a few
more interesting lines which were not in the initial list. Some
of them are:
You know you live in a country run by idiots if ….
—A Muslim officer crying “Allah
Akbar” while shooting up an army base is considered to
have committed “workplace violence” while an American
citizen displaying a Ron Paul bumper sticker is classified as
a “domestic terrorist.”
—The rights of the Government come before the rights of
Your government can add anything they want to your kid's water
(fluoride, chlorine, etc.) but you are not allowed to give them
—Parents believe the State is responsible for providing
for their children.
—Smoking pot is legal and widely accepted, but smoking
tobacco is treated like a criminal offense.
—Working class Americans pay for their own health care
while unmarried women can have one child after another on the
State's money and never be held responsible for their choices.
You may keep adding items to this list.
It is obvious that Mr. North is a Republican, because all the
things he wants us to believe are the result of a government run
by idiots allegedly have been done by Democrats. By the way, the
notion that Democrats are idiots and Republicans are evil is an
old mantra repeated over and over by disinformers of both branches
of the Repucratic Party.
But Admiral James Forrestal, America’s first Secretary of
Defense and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations who became
a whistleblower, discovered a different reality. Initially, Forrestal
was one the earliest and strongest promoters of what was soon
to be known as the “Cold War.” But eventually he became
very dismayed when he witnessed the betrayal of American soldiers
by the deliberate refusal of CFR members Generals Dwight D. Eisenhower
and George C. Marshall, in complicity with President Roosevelt,
to win World War II at least one full year before the hostilities
Forrestal also saw how, as the result of a secret agreement between
Roosevelt and Churchill, concocted by the CFR conspirators, the
U.S. rearmed the Soviet Union with Lend-Lease war materials, and
then waited until Russia marched into Berlin and captured all
of Eastern Europe. Forrestal was so upset with these events that
“These men are not incompetent or stupid.
They are crafty and brilliant. Consistency has never been a
mark of stupidity. If they were merely stupid, they would occasionally
make a mistake in our favor.”
Soon after, Forrestal allegedly committed suicide
under suspicious circumstances.
Do we live in a country run by idiots? Unfortunately not. And
I say unfortunately, because if the ones who planned all these
things were idiots at least a few times they would do idiotic
things that would benefit us, but, as Admiral Forrestal noticed,
they never do. Year after year, most of the “idiots”
have consistently acted against the best interest of the American
Actually, you don’t live in a country run by idiots because
—Everything they do pushes you farther
down into the road of the communo-fascist slavery of the New
—While you are getting poorer, the ones who really run
this country are getting richer.
—They want to ban your guns while they are arming themselves
to the teeth.
—They raise your taxes while they create loopholes to
Actually, you are an idiot only if you have
been brainwashed to believe that …
—Bush was better than Obama.
—Clinton was better than Bush.
—A lone nut assassinated JFK.
—There is a difference between the Republican and the
—A bunch of ragtag Muslims that could not fly a Piper
Cub hijacked four airliners and crashed them against the Pentagon
and the World Trade Center towers.
—World Trade Center Building 7 collapsed on its own footprint
as the result of fires.
—The attacks happened because the U.S. intelligence agencies
failed to connect the dots.
—U.S. armed forces are all around the globe protecting
you from terrorist attacks at home.
—The same guys who are planning to kill 85 percent of
us now want to confiscate your guns to prevent you from killing
—The so-called “free trade” has benefited
the U.S. economy.
—Waterboarding is not torture, but an “enhanced
—Getting rid of Obama the puppet and bringing another
puppet to the White House and things will get better for you.
—Losing liberties is not a high price to pay in exchange
for alleged “security.”
(Keep adding items to your heart’s content!)
Actually, the CFR conspirators who have been
running our country for more than a century are geniuses. They
are extremely intelligent and creative. Unfortunately, they
are evil geniuses whose ultimate goal in life seems to be making
other people miserable.
Now, you may say that the country is run by Wall Street bankers,
oil magnates and CEOs of transnational corporations. You may say
that the country is run by CFR conspirators who have infiltrated
the government. You may say that the country is run by sociopaths
and psychopaths who push us into unnecessary, unwinnable wars,
but not by idiots. You may say that the country is run by a criminal
cabal, but not that they are idiots. You may say that this country
is run by a bunch of sobs, but not that they are idiots.
Do you think these “idiots” actually believe in global
warming? Do you think they believe in evolution? Do you think
they believe that fluoridating the water, genetically modifying
our food, spreading chemicals in the atmosphere, and vaccinating
us and our children is good for our health? Do you think they
believe that the TSA protects us from terrorist attacks? Do you
think they believe the U.S. is spreading democracy around the
world? Do you think they truly believe that banning guns in the
hands of citizens will end violence and reduce criminality?
If you think so,
YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

of Joe McCarthy (Boston: Western Islands, 1970), p. 113.
People who managed to convince most of the people in this
planet that carbon dioxide (C02), a non-toxic, beneficial gas
necessary to sustain life, is a poisonous, dangerous gas, and
that the only thing we can do to survive is to end industrial
civilization, are nothing but geniuses.
